Become A Volunteer

The Children’s Museum of Brownsville always needs extra hands to help us sustain a center where children can discover, learn and imagine. We are always seeking workshop volunteers who would like to sponsor a workshop for six months to a year: to read, create an arts/craft, or present once a month at a themed workshop highlighting science, math, reading, history, etc. If this sounds like you, we encourage you to spend your time making a difference in our community and allow yourself the satisfaction that you work and your effort is going toward helping a child learn and develop.

We accept youth and adult volunteers for a minimum of 30 hours starting at age 15, with approval from the Volunteer Coordinator. All volunteers must adhere to providing immunization records or a doctor’s note stating that the volunteer is cleared to associate with the public. If over the age of 18, a background check will be conducted.

If you are interested in volunteering for a workshop or giving a helping hand for a few hours, please feel free to call us at 956-548-9300 or email us at [email protected] if you have any questions.
